Halloween

Addison and I went over to the Hall's for yummy Chili and cornbread before trick-or-treating.
Zack had to work :(
Addie got a lot of good stuff including a finger puppet!
When we got home she played catch with Uncle Cory!
Rolo was losing her mind!  LOL!
Zack was a pirate for Halloween at work!  He looks awesome!
I got Addie a glove and a small softball
at Sports Authority while we were out
shopping for Cassie's bday presents.
Kendal was offended that we didn't go to DICK's
where she works.  DOH!

Pre-Halloween day

Connor came over this morning to get the final touch to his costume...
one of my crocheted beards!  Lumberjack man!
Then we headed out to Addison's Halloween Parade at school.  While we waited for her, Brody wanted to play with Zack.
This kid had the coolest costume!  A snack machine with REAL snacks inside!
Our little princess!
Later that day, Zack and Christy volunteered at Addie's Halloween party.
That night, we went out with the Hall's to a carnival put on
by the new community they are moving to.
 They had train rides!
and pumpkin decorating.  It was fun :)
Earlier in the day, Kendal and Cory were deep into their phones.
When we got home that night, Kendal and Cory
had carved a pumpkin!

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - Tennessee

Monday was a nice sunny day.
The fire department was pretty busy
I walked downtown to Target and Ulta.  Then I decided to find this famous "bean" in Millennium Park.  There was a hot dog stand and so I got a Chicago hot dog (plain) not Chicago style.  It was just ok.
Zack helped Addie with her homework.  Christy sent me this picture.
The FBI director gave a great talk at the conference.  It was all over the news.  Later that night, Tazer  put on a huge party.  Chief and Jeff took a bus from the conference to the party and I took a cab from the Hotel and met them there.  It was at this old warehouse in Chicago called Morgan Manufacturing.  It was all re-done extremely nice.  The place was packed, there was no food.  Just loud music and alcohol.  Not our scene. Chief was ready to leave after about a 1/2 hr.  We even had VIP tickets, which I think just gave us free drinks.  But we don't drink. Ha!  Chief got a cigar that he wanted to smoke when we got back to the hotel and then we left and called it a night.
Tuesday it was cold, windy and rainy!  Chief and Jeff left for the conference early because President Obama was going to giver a speech at the conference.  I didn't want to stay in the hotel all day, so I walked a mile to one of the bestest places to spend a cold, windy and rainy day:  Barnes & Nobles!  I thought I would just sit and have a bowl of soup from the little Cafe inside, but the soup was so blasted hot there was no way I could eat it!  So I walked home with it in my hands (to keep me warm) while I walked UPHILL, against the wind with the rain pelting my face because I couldn't keep my hood from blowing off while I was holding my soup!  It took about 15 minutes to get back to the hotel.  By the time I got to my room and dried off, the soup was just right.
I finished the book I brought on the trip:  The girl with all the gifts by M.R. Carey
(I really liked it!)
I got a new book titled:  The first fifteen lives of Harry August by Clare North.
I find it to be very interesting so far!
Jeff said the President's speech was actually pretty good.
That night we walked a mile to have dinner with the Diiullo's who were also in town for the conference!  We met at this awesome Italian restaurant called Volare.  It was cold and rainy and so windy that it would just blow you over!  I was grateful I had a hood!  Jeff didn't have one though!
The guys wouldn't take a group picture so Kristen and I had to take a selfie!
We had the most adorable waitress from Lithuania.  She was beautiful too!  The guys were a little drooly.  Scott is now 50 so he has to use his readers.  I only made fun of him a little bit since he payed for dinner!  The walk home was even worse.  It was colder and even more windy!  We walked so fast that I was out of breath by the time we got to the hotel and I was hot and sweaty!  LOL!  We saw a guy out jogging!  We saw a homeless guy up against a building playing his saxaphone for tips and a guy in shorts and a t-shirt out riding his bike like it was the middle of summer!  These Chicago natives are CRAZY!
Wednesday morning we had reservations for the airport shuttle to pick the 3 of us up.  It was more expensive then a cab ride!  When we got the shuttle, it was packed full of people and there was NO WAY we were going to fit!  Jeff was super mad and making a big stink about it.  Me and Chief got inside and sat down and Chief popped up and said, "I gotta get out of here!"  It was so claustrophobic!  I jumped out after him and he says, "I can't do this!"  We were like, "AMEN!  So we took a cab instead.  The traffic was unbelievable!  So glad we didn't take that stupid shuttle!  They have these park and ride places but I'm not so sure what the Kiss and Ride is all about!?
My first flight was over an hour delayed due to some mechanical problem!  UGH!  So I totally missed my connecting flight!  But United Airlines does the coolest thing!  They texted me and said, they booked me on the next flight since I missed my connecting flight!  I had a gate number and everything before I even got off the plane!  I also got to watch a free movie of my choice on my first flight.  I watched Jupiter Ascending.  I didn't realized it took place in Chicago!  It was so cool to see the buildings and the streets that I had just walked by!   Chief and Dad headed to Tennessee for "Bullet Fest"  Jeff said Tennessee was way better than Chicago!
Thursday, Chief and Dad were in little boy heaven!
For sale for $12,500!
The view Dad had from the tank while it was driving!
Those cars have washer and dryers on them.  They are the targets they will be shooting at!
Oh Tennessee !
When Kendal got off work today, we decided it would be a good idea to meet her at Julio Too's for dinner!  I be missin' me some good Mexican food!  Zack was complaining that he didn't know what to order and that it probably didn't matter anyway because it never fills him up and it never tastes good.  I told him Julio has never let us down and to have faith.  He ordered a shredded beef chimichanga and had to admit that it was bomb and he was stuffed!  We were making up funny names for different kinds of Mexican food.  I told the kids my mom once put peanut butter and jelly on a tortilla and they were like, gross!  What do you even call that?  Zack said, "a P B-rito"!  Then Kendal thought some lady was eating a hamburger.  We were like, what do you call that?  Kendal said, "a burg-ito"!   We thought it was pretty funny.  This picture is what Kendal does to her enchilada, rice and beans.  She said, "don't get me in that picture!"  Oops?
